Composizione dal carattere essenzialmente intimo e sereno cui corrisponde una concezione strumentale ispirata a grande semplicità. L’ispirazione di questo brano nasce dal tentativo di descrivere la sensazione di trascorrere la vita all’insegna di un disincantato “carpe diem”.

Composition with an essentially intimate and serene character which corresponds to an instrumental conception inspired by great simplicity. The inspiration for this song comes from the attempt to describe the feeling of spending life in the spirit of a disenchanted “carpe diem”.

Questo brano risponde ad un’esigenza di immediatezza che ho cercato di ricreare in questa musica, lavorando intensamente su colori, fraseggio ed espressione di ogni nota, senza peraltro trascurare – anzi cercando di evocarlo con la sufficiente esattezza psicologica – il senso sottile di inquietudine, di disperazione che si insinua tra le sue note. È come uno sguardo gettato su un abisso di dolore, non finisce mai di stimolarmi – e ad emozionarmi, se il tentativo è andato a buon fine – ad ogni nuova esecuzione, perché mi evoca qualcosa che vive e si agita, nel profondo di me stesso. Ed è anche per questo, per il fatto che mi risulta praticamente impossibile suonarlo in maniera identica anche solo due volte che l’ho intitolato “Nulla due volte “. This piece responds to a need for immediacy that I tried to recreate in this music, working intensely on colours, phrasing and expression of each note, without neglecting – indeed trying to evoke it with sufficient psychological accuracy – the subtle sense of restlessness, of desperation that creeps into his notes. 

It’s like a gaze cast into an abyss of pain, it never ceases to stimulate me – and to excite me, if the attempt was successful – with each new performance, because it evokes in me something that lives and stirs, deep within myself. . 

And it is also for this reason, for the fact that it is practically impossible for me to play it in the same way even just twice, that I titled it “Nothing twice”. Happy listening and a warm greeting to everyone
